Moses makes return pledge
03 Jul 2007 - 12:26:58
Watford striker Moses Ashikodi is confident he will be fit enough to return to action within two months as he battles back from the broken leg he suffered while on loan with Bradford City last term.
The 20-year-old scored twice in eight appearances for the Bantams before suffering the injury in April.
However, he has been able to take in light training this week and told the Hornets' official website: "There's a real buzz around the boys and I'm really, really pleased to be back involved and around them all.
"The lads are really determined to gain promotion, it's really important for us to be back in the Premier League again.
"My summer has gone now really and I didn't get a break, I just needed to relax and concentrate on my leg and rehabilitation, so it's been a long slow start to the summer for me.
"I've been working with the medical staff and started running for the first time on Monday in a bid to try and build up my calf muscle.
"I'm looking at being back at the end of August or the start of September which is much sooner than the Christmas date I originally had in mind. I'm hoping to be back in full training in six weeks' time."
