Mackay hails goalkeeping options
Academy graduate Lee stepped in with Scott Loach on England Under-21 duty and earned a clean sheet as the Hornets squeezed past Barnet 2-0 in the Carling Cup.
"All credit to Richard, he had little to do for most of the game and then pulled one save out of the bag in the final minutes, and that shows what Richard is," said Mackay.
"The way he trains hard every day and his professionalism means he can just step in and show a real commanding performance to make a save and take the boys into extra time."
