On-loan Tottenham winger Danny Rose was a second-half substitute in the 2-2 draw with Southampton in midweek and showed some exceptional touches before marring his display by missing an open goal in stoppage time but Rodgers is keen to give loanees from the Premier League a chance. He said: "I've been involved in youth football for a lot of my life and I know there is a lot of young British talent around. "What they need is an opportunity and I have an inherent belief in young players. You can't put out 11 kids but there are talents out there who need a platform to develop and I will always give them that here. "The young lads have been accepted into this club and I see it as an obligation of mine to help young players in their careers. "Of course Danny will go back to Tottenham a better player but we benefit as well in the short term. Success for me is not just about winning games, it also comes from seeing Ross Jenkins develop, from seeing Mike Williamson come in from League Two and show he is one of the best centre-halves in the division, it's about improving footballers."
