Hoskins offered fresh start

Watford boss Adrian Boothroyd has urged striker Will Hoskins to make the most of a second chance to impress at Vicarage Road.

The 22-year-old has made just 12 appearances for the Hornets since his arrival from Rotherham United in January 2007 and was loaned out to Millwall and Nottingham Forest.

However, Boothroyd says that Hoskins now has another opportunity to try and become a first-team regular.

He told the Watford Observer: "I'm always willing to be open-minded. I have opinions about things, but I don't bear grudges.

"We expect a certain level of discipline here and it's important the players do what is asked of them. I always want to be flexible and it's a clean slate for Will.

"He's a very clever player and he'll open up defences. He's bright, got a bit to prove and I like them to be hungry.

"I see him as player who can play in the little pockets, in from wide or just off a frontman. When a game is stretched, he can get on the ball and pick out passes."
