Hornets snub Rodgers link

Watford chairman Jimmy Russo has rubbished rumours linking Hornets manager Brendan Rodgers with a move to Reading.

Rodgers has emerged as the hot favourite with the bookies to succeed Steve Coppell at the Madejski Stadium, but Russo says no deal is in the pipeline.

He told the Watford Observer: "It is highly unlikely as Brendan has made a commitment to Watford going forward and we are delighted he is on board.

"He has seen the plans for the future and they are very exciting."

Rodgers only took charge at Vicarage Road in November and guided the Hornets clear of relegation danger and into a respectable mid-table finish.
