Hornets snap up winger
23 Nov 2007 - 10:37:35
Watford have raided League Two high-fliers Hereford to sign in-form winger Lionel Ainsworth on loan with a view to a permanent January transfer.
The 20-year-old joined the Bulls in the summer after being released by Derby County and has been in sensational form, scoring eight times in 19 appearances.
However, Hereford agreed to do business with the Championship club in return for keeping on-loan Watford players Theo Robinson and Toumani Diagouraga at Edgar Street until the end of the season.
The Hornets also agreed to sell Diagouraga to Graham Turner's side at the end of his loan spell.
Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd was forced into the market after seeing on-loan youngster Adam Johnson recalled by Middlesbrough.
"It's a blow because he's scored five goals and created five goals for us," he told the club's official website after losing the winger.
"I might even get somebody in on loan. I'm looking at doing that possibly, just to beef up the squad for the next ten games."
