Hornets shun Eustace appeal

Watford have opted not to appeal against the sending-off of midfielder John Eustace against his former club, Stoke City.

Eustace was red-carded after just 21 minutes of the weekend Vicarage Road clash, which eventually ended goalless, for a foul on Richard Cresswell.

Manager Aidy Boothroyd told the club's official website: "I have spoken to the referee and I have also spoken to the referees' assessor about the incident.

"For our appeal to be successful we must prove the decision has been a clear error on the referee's part.

"While we believe it to have been wrong, it's nonetheless a judgement call by Rob Styles and we cannot prove otherwise."
