Hornets seal Ainsworth deal

Watford have completed the permanent signing of on-loan winger Lionel Ainsworth.

The 20-year-old wideman joined the Hornets in late November from Hereford United and manager Aidy Boothroyd has now opted to hand him a two-and-a-half year contract.

Ainsworth registered on Watford's radar after scoring eight times - including two hat-tricks - for the League Two club during the opening months of the season.

The former Derby County trainee has made one start and one substitute appearance for his new club.

Ainsworth has also represented England at Under-17 and Under-19 level.
