Watford boss Adrian Boothroyd has admitted that his club are unlikely to be able to compete in the race to sign MK Dons midfielder Keith Andrews.
The 27-year-old Irishman has been placed on the transfer list by last season's League One champions, with Blackburn Rovers reported to be leading chase for his signature.
Boothroyd told the Watford Observer: "I don't think I'll have the sort of money the MK Dons are talking about to go and bid for that player.
"He's player I really like, he was the best player in League Two last year.
"He would score a lot of goals for us, but I'm not in a position to go and spend that kind of money."
Andrews scored 21 goals in 85 appearances during two seasons with the Dons.
