Hornets firm over Shittu

Watford centre-back Danny Shittu is going nowhere this summer, according to club chairman Graham Simpson.

"We have had inquiries from Premier League clubs but no offers for Danny," revealed Simpson.

Shittu, 27, has been a key part of the Watford defence since his £1.5million move from QPR two summers ago.

With Nathan Ellington and Jordan Stewart having already left the Hornets this summer, the club now appear determined to keep the rest of the squad intact as they aim for promotion from the Championship.

Simpson was in no doubt that Shittu will remain at the London-based club, stating that "Danny is still with us and that's the way it is staying."
