Hornets boss keen on Rasiak stay

Rasiak is on loan from Southampton until the end of the season, and while finances may be an issue in securing the Poland international permanently, Rodgers is hoping to thrash out a deal with the struggling Saints.

He said: "He is someone I have grown to like. He is a good guy and a good professional.

"I am open-minded and I have an idea of how I want to play and maybe at the beginning he didn't feature but everyone has seen his contribution.

"He is a very good professional and has big qualities for this division and he is someone I would like to stay.

"I have had a chat with him about that and I would like him to stay but we have to look at it as a club. The club will do what they can do if the player wants to stay."
