Hornets bide time over boss search
Russo and the club's board were taken by surprise by the departure of Rodgers after just 192 days and will not rush into naming a successor.
Russo said: "We have had a lot of good applicants come through and we are looking at it collectively and we are about to start the interview process.
"I can assure the fans that we will take our time and we will pick somebody who is right for Watford.
"It has only been two working days and people we might be interested to talk to might be on holiday but there has been a
lot of good candidates as well.
"If we want to talk to people then we have to go through the right channels. We have to conduct our business in the right manner."
