Ellington's future at Vicarage Road has been in some doubt since he returned to the club in the summer after spending last season on loan at Derby County.[LNB]He undertook a trial at Blackburn Rovers in August, but was not offered a move to Ewood Park by Sam Allardyce.[LNB]The 28-year-old has made 18 appearances for the Hornets this term, but 16 of those have come from the bench and he will now be on the move in January.[LNB]Ellington is looking forward to his fresh start and could join Xanthi on a permanent basis if he impresses during the next six months.[LNB]"I'm really thrilled to be here and I want to help the team climb higher in the table and even qualify for Europe," said Ellington.[LNB]"This is the first time I'm playing outside of England and it's a new experience for me."[LNB][LNB]
