Gilmartin determined to oust Loach
Watford goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin believes he can replace Scott Loach as number one at Vicarage Road.
The 23-year-old stopper signed on a free transfer from Walsall and is determined to make his mark for Malky Mackay's men.
Loach was an ever-present in the league for the Hornets last term and his impressive performances led to speculation linking him to a host of Premier League clubs, including Tottenham.
But Gilmartin insists it is all to play for on the selection front and told BBC Three Counties Radio: "There's never a number one at a club,
"Scott Loach has done very well for Watford and I'm looking to do the exact same. If Scott starts the season then brilliant, I support him 100%."
