Foster urges Young to stay
16 Jan 2007 - 09:45:59
Watford's on-loan goalkeeper Ben Foster has pleaded with in-demand Hornets winger Ashley Young to stay at the club and aid their bid to escape relegation from the Premiership.
The 21-year-old is wanted by a host of other top-flight clubs, with Aston Villa, Spurs, West Ham and Arsenal known to be keen on the England Under-21 international.
However, Foster wants Young to remain a Hornet and move on in the summer.
He said: "Ashley is a really important player for us and a huge talent.
"I am sure he can go on to bigger and better things in the future. But, while he is here, we really do need him.
"He is a vital part of our team. A lot of the play goes through Ashley and he would be a massive loss for us if he were to leave."
Young progressed through the youth ranks at Vicarage Road and has scored four goals this season for Aidy Boothroyd's side.
