Foster targets upturn
15 Sep 2006 - 13:06:37
Ben Foster believes Watford's fortunes will soon start to improve despite the club's current position at the foot of the Premiership table.
The 23-year-old, who is enjoying his second successive season on loan at Vicarage Road from Manchester United, has only conceded four goals in his three games for the Hornets this term, but Adrian Boothroyd's side find themselves bottom of the table with only one point.
However, an optimistic Foster told Sky Sports News: "It's just not going for us at the moment. We're creating a lot of chances against teams, it's just we're not taking them and we're getting punished for it.
"We can't believe where we are to be honest with you. We're very upbeat about it. We know we're better than where we are in the league. We know it's going to turn around.
"Four years ago I was working in a kitchen. If someone had said in four years you'd be on the bench for England against Macedonia, well I can't say what I'd have said.
"It's been a massive achievement for me. I've come a long way in a short space of time. I just want to play football, whether it be for England, Watford or Manchester United."
