Foster helped me decide - Cleverley
Foster enjoyed a productive two seasons at Vicarage Road and had no hesitation in recommending a loan stint to his young United team-mate.
"I had a little chat with Ben to find out a bit more about Watford before I made my decision," said Cleverley.
"We chatted about Watford was like as a place, where he lived when he was down here and what the fans were like. He was very complimentary about every aspect of the club and that helped me feel I wanted to come here.
"Ben said he really enjoyed his time at Watford and ultimately that made my mind up for me."
