Eustace earns card reprieve

Watford captain John Eustace has been given permission to face Hull in the second leg of the play-off semi-final after having a red card rescinded. Referee Kevin Friend sent off the Hornets skipper in Sunday's 2-0 first leg defeat at Vicarage Road following an altercation with his opposite number Ian Ashbee. Speaking after the defeat, manager Adrian Boothroyd hit out at the red card. He said: "With the sending-off we have a situation where the Hull players are more experienced than the referee and they've talked him into a red card. "The ball's on the floor, there are bodies around and he's gone for the ball. "Are we not allowed to tackle any more?"
