Elton sounds Watford warning

Former chairman Elton John has criticised the current regime in charge at Watford and claims the club could be heading for "catastrophe".
The 61-year-old has twice acted as chairman at Vicarage Road but believes the club is now being poorly run and has questioned where the money from Premier League parachute payments and recent player sales has gone.
"The manager and the players have my full support," he said.
"But it is clear that the playing staff has been left threadbare after the sale of leading players over the last year or so, and even now I understand that there are plans for further player sales in January.
"Confidence must be brought back to the playing staff and a real sense that there is a future at the club. If the directors do not have that optimism they should go.
"We know from other clubs that when stability and confidence go there is danger of plummeting into freefall.
"I fear we could be facing that catastrophe."
