Doyley delighted to break duck

Doyley, who joined the Hornets aged 11 and made his debut more than eight years ago, marked his 269th appearance with his first senior goal.[LNB]The full-back's team-mates joke he has never even scored in training, but he broke his duck like an accomplished striker with a flying header.[LNB]"I always knew it was going to happen but it took a bit longer than I thought," admitted Doyley.[LNB]"I've gone close over the last few games so I thought it was coming. It was a good moment and a great feeling."[LNB]Victory was especially sweet for Watford in a clash between the division's haves and have nots - the Hornets are now two points above their rivals even though the gulf between them off the pitch remains huge.[LNB]QPR are still bankrolled by their billionaire owners while Watford, by contrast, are facing the threat of administration - and the 10-point penalty which goes with it - unless they can urgently raise funds.[LNB]They went behind in the 34th minute, against the run of play, when Alejandro Faurlin found Patrick Agyemang, who rifled a low shot past Loach from the edge of the area.[LNB]Rangers were desperate for a pick-me-up after Saturday's 5-1 pasting by Middlesbrough, but their lead lasted just 10 minutes.[LNB]Doyley leapt through the air to get on the end of Don Cowie's cross and bullet a header past Radek Cerny to spark wild celebrations around the ground.[LNB]"I played with the guy, and it was the closest I've ever seen him get to the penalty box," smiled Hornets boss Malky Mackay.[LNB]"But he's great professional, he's the guy I point out to the youngsters. To get his first goal will be special - and it was a fantastic goal as well."[LNB]Doyley also had a hand in the Hornets' second, ignoring the crowd's pleas to shoot and feeding Tom Cleverley, who in turn picked out Don Cowie to lash home.[LNB]And Cleverley broke clear in stoppage time to slot home the third and condemn Rangers to a third defeat in four games.[LNB]The storm clouds are gathering over the west Londoners as their promotion bid falters.[LNB]Crestfallen midfielder Akos Buzsaky was left to take refuge in a public toilet, still in his kit, as manager Jim Magilton conducted his dressing-room inquest.[LNB]"Difference of opinion," said Magilton afterwards.[LNB]"Anything that was said will be kept in-house."[LNB]He added: "At the minute everything a team is hitting against us is going into the net.[LNB]"Most Championship sides go through periods like that."[LNB][LNB]
