Cowie: Severin will be excellent

The 30-year-old has spent the last five years with Scottish Premier League outfit Aberdeen and Cowie believes Severin's versatility will be an invaluable asset if he completes his move to Vicarage Road. "Scott has done extremely well in the last 10 years in Scottish football and he has noticed, like I did, a lot of players have gone to England and he wants to try it down here," he told the Press and Journal. "He is very experienced and can play in a number of positions, he will be an excellent signing for us. "He is versatile. He can play in midfield or defence and he is very good technically in terms of his passing. "I don't know what the game plan will be with our new manager, but he would certainly have fitted in with the old manager [Brendan Rodgers] as he liked us to play good, passing football and Scott can definitely do that. "It is always nice to have a familiar face in the dressing-room, when I entered the Watford dressing-room they could not have been any more welcoming. Maybe I will be able to help him settle in a bit better knowing what he is going through."
