Cally's Benefit Match - Derby Legends 2 Watford Legends 2
On Sunday, Watford Legends travelled to Derby to take on their Legends side in a benefit match for Nigel Callaghan who is suffering from bowel cancer. 3,500 fans turned up to watch the benefit match which finished 2-2 and saw Cally even get on the score sheet. The money raised will go to Nigel whose been unable to work lately due to chemotherapy, he's going to donate a percentage to the Bobby Moore Fund and there was a collection on the day for the Lewis Mighty Fund. Watford fans who made the journey would've had the pleasure of seeing legends such as Andy Hessenthaler, Luther Blissett, Nigel Gibbs and Tommy Mooney play. Other ex-Hornets who were in the crowd showing their support but weren't able to play included Kenny Jackett, Steve Terry and Steve Sherwood. The Golden Boys went 1-0 when Paul Devlin scored, Nigel Callaghan then scored an equalizing penalty. Bruce Dyer put Watford 2-1 up before Cliff Johnson equalized. Cliff had paid for the opportunity to take part in the match.
