Hereford United have handed a contract to former Derby County youngster Lionel Ainsworth after he impressed during the pre-season build-up at Edgar Street.
The 19-year-old wideman was allowed to leave the Rams at the end of last season, having spent spells out on loan at Bournemouth, Halifax Town and Wycombe Wanderers last term.
Ainsworth made two first-team appearances for Derby during the 2005-06 season.
Meanwhile, the Bulls have been linked with the imminent capture of experienced frontman Trevor Benjamin, who has left Peterborough United.
Posh director of football, Barry Fry, told his club's official website: "Trevor has been with us two seasons and we wish him the best of luck in his career.
"We thank him for his service. I think he will be signing for Hereford United in the next few days."
