    Boothroyd hails his Hornets

    12 Mar 2007 - 07:36:49

Watford boss Adrian Boothroyd conceded his side will be the preferred choice among the rest of the teams remaining in the FA Cup ahead of Monday's semi-final draw.

The Hornets earned their place in the hat after a narrow 1-0 win over Championship side Plymouth Argyle on Sunday evening and Boothroyd is under no illusions about the size of the task facing his side if they are to reach a Wembley final.

"Everybody will want us in the draw," said Boothroyd. "That's fine and perhaps we can use that.

"Ben Foster has underlined why I think he's going to be the world's number one goalkeeper. I thought his performance was outstanding.

"I am delighted for him and for all the team because we had to defend like mad. We might not have played as well as we can, but it's a winning business, and we've won.

"I'm thrilled for our fans and our players because we've taken a few knocks this year. I'm absolutely delighted we are in the semi-finals."

Boothroyd also paid tribute to Plymouth Argyle and their manager Ian Holloway after a tight encounter at Home Park.

"You can see that Ian Holloway has really got this area buzzing. This is a far different place from when I came down last time," he added.

"They will use this to push on forward. I am sure it is only a matter of time. There is only one place this club is going, in my opinion."
