Weston commits to Saddlers

Walsall defender Rhys Weston has pledged his future to the club by penning a contract extension that will keep him with the Saddlers until the end of the 2009-10 campaign.

The 27-year-old Wales international moved to the Banks' Stadium last summer and has been a regular at the heart of the club's defence, featuring in 38 games already this term.

"I'm delighted," Weston told the club's official website. "It's a nice feeling to have my future sorted out and I can now concentrate on the run-in with nothing else to think about other than helping this club to achieve promotion.

"I've had a great start to my Walsall career but you don't win anything in March, so I'll be doing all I can to help the team get promoted."
