Taylor back in the saddle

Walsall defender Andy Taylor hopes to be back in contention for the visit of midlands rivals Wolves.

Taylor has not featured since mid-January due to a knee injury but enjoyed 45 minutes for the reserves in midweek and is pushing for involvement against Wanderers.

Midfielder Sam Mantom serves the second game of his three-match ban having seen his appeal against the red card he received at Preston rejected.

Dean Holden also continues to be ruled out with his knee injury as the Saddlers look to arrest a winless run which stretched to six matches with Wednesday's 2-1 defeat at Coventry.

Wolves striker Leon Clarke has a good chance of returning to the fold in time for the derby clash.

The striker managed just one appearance following his January switch from Coventry before sustaining a heel injury which has ruled him out of the last three matches.

But he is expected to be fit for the trip to the Banks's Stadium and head coach Kenny Jackett now faces a welcome selection dilemma with an unchanged side having triumphed in each of the last three games - extending the club's winning run to seven successive matches.

All of Wolves' international contingent have also returned to the midlands unscathed following their midweek exploits.
