Cook set for season bow

Jordan Cook could make his first appearance of the season when Walsall host unbeaten leaders Bristol City.

The Saddlers winger has not played this term after suffering an ankle injury in the summer but has trained all week.

Ben Purkiss and James Chambers are also available but Sam Mantom is not fit enough as he continues his recovery from a knee injury.

Romaine Sawyers will be in the squad before he joins up with St Kitts and Nevis while five-goal Tom Bradshaw is on standby for Wales.

Bristol City once again have a fully-fit squad to choose from.

The Robins are top of League One and remain unbeaten after 10 games with Steve Cotterill having been able to pick from a full-strength squad in almost every match and things will be no different at Walsall.

Boss Cotterill could name the same XI that saw off MK Dons 3-2 last weekend but he has a number of players chomping at the bit to be involved against the Saddlers.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Marlon Pack, Wes Burns and Greg Cunningham will hope their chance has come to break into the starting line-up.
