Glovers off the mark
Yeovil scored their first league goals and collected their first League One win of the season at the expense of struggling Walsall who were beaten 2-1 at the Banks's Stadium.
James Hayter put them in front with a bullet header from a Kevin Dawson cross in the 56th minute, and Dawson himself added the second in a goalmouth scramble in the 73rd minute.
The Glovers' clinching goal came a minute after Tom Bradshaw had equalised for Walsall who paid the price or some poor first-half finishing.
Both sides missed early chances, Walsall defender Paul Downing heading a great chance wide from a Mal Benning cross on six minutes, then Hayter blazed wide for Yeovil after beating the offside trap.
Ashley Grimes saw a close-range drive saved by Yeovil goalkeeper Chris Weale in the 33rd minute, and after Andy Taylor just missed the target with a free-kick, Romaine Sawyers, put clean through by Grimes, sent a tame shot hopelessly wide a minute before the break.
Walsall had a late penalty claim rejected as they were beaten again.
