Orient slay Saddlers Leighton Orient boosted their play-off hopes and extended their unbeaten run to 12 league games with a 2-0 win over the struggling Walsall at the Banks's stadium. In front of their lowest gate of the season for a league match, the Saddlers crashed to their 10th home defeat of the season after hitting the woodwork twice in the first half. In the 20th minute, Julian Gray slammed a shot against the Orient post and 12 minutes later Marc Antoine Gbarssin struck a volley against the bar. But Orient showed them the way to finish in the 43rd minute when the lively Dean Cox crossed for Harry Kane to send a looping header just inside the far post. Walsall huffed and puffed in the second half but could not find a way through and were finished off in the 56th minute. Substitute Jonathan Tehoue, who had only been on the pitch six minutes, was on the spot to finish off a low cross from Matt Spring.
