The right-sided midfielder, 23, penned a one-year deal with the Saddlers on Thursday having shone while on trial at the club of late. Local lad Till, who rose through the ranks at Birmingham before joining Grimsby in 2007 amid a host of loan spells, is the fifth new arrival of the summer at the Banks's Stadium after Mark Hughes, Steve Jones, Josh O'Keefe and Sam Parkin. He told the club's official website: "The new lads have all enhanced what is a good, young squad. I've noticed how everyone is itching to play and the competition is going to be healthy. My first aim is to get into the team and keep my place, then help the club progress. "This is a great opportunity for me. To be at my hometown club gives me an extra incentive to do well. The enthusiasm of the gaffer (Chris Hutchings) and Martin O'Connor has really impressed me. Training has been first-class and this is an ideal opportunity for me to improve as a player." Till, who made a total of 37 appearances last season for Grimsby and during a loan stint at Chesterfield, has already featured in Walsall's pre-season friendlies against Rotherham and Wolves and is expected to take to the field against West Brom on Saturday. Left-back Jamie Vincent remains on trial.
