Spot of bother for Saddlers boss

Walsall boss Dean Smith was furious with the penalty decision that all-but sealed Colchester`s 2-0 victory. Richard Taundry was controversially adjudged to have brought down Ian Henderson inside the area. David Mooney converted the spot-kick to add to David Perkins` opening goal. "It was embarrassing for the officials," said Smith. "I think that the only person in the whole ground who thought that it was a penalty was the linesman. I don`t think the referee thought it was a penalty." He added: "Overall, I don't think that we did enough to win the game. But goals do changes matches and I think that the two goals went against us with these decisions. "They had a couple cleared off the line too but that's football and there are defining moments in games. "However, I can't question the attitude of my lads. I did feel that the quality let them down at times but they were hard conditions for them and I thought that Colchester adapted better to the conditions than ourselves."
