Smith reflects on poor performance

Walsall manager Dean Smith felt his side were fortunate to come away with anything to show for their efforts after a lacklustre display at Huish Park.Jon Macken put the Saddlers ahead before Yeovil`s Andy Williams levelled matters at 1-1. The point left the Saddlers, who have played more games than any other team in the bottom half of the table, still in the drop zone on goal difference behind Dagenham & Redbridge, who have four matches in hand.Yeovil, meanwhile, remain two places and two points clear with two games over the Saddlers."It was a poor game and a poor performance from us," said Smith. "We were lucky to get a point. As a team in general we were off the pace and I think the amount of games we have had over a short time has caught up with us."Having a break this week will give us a chance to recharge the batteries. There were a lot of flat performances from us out there. I have told the players that sort of performance is not acceptable."We could have nicked it at the end when Ledesma had a chance and hit the bar, but it would have been an undeserved victory. Where we are at the moment, we take what we can get. At least we haven't got beat which is good for us."
