Smith: We got what we deserved

Walsall boss Dean Smith held up his hands after the 2-0 defeat at Plymouth and conceded: "We got what we deserved." Yannick Bolasie and substitute Rory Patterson scored second-half goals to plunge the Saddlers deeper into the mire and boost Argyle`s slim survival hopes. Smith said: "It was a disappointing performance. I thought Plymouth deserved to win, it's not what I expect from my players and obviously the two-week break has not helped us in any shape or form. "Plymouth had a two-week break and I saw them lose at Orient on Tuesday and they looked leggy then, like we did here. "It wasn`t a performance I expect from my players and I`ve not had it from my players, we`ve been better than that and training's been no different, so all I can put it down to is the two-week break. "They have just let their standards slip and they have set high standards in 18 games for me and they`ve been told about it."
