Smith sets sights on Saddlers deal

The 20-year-old youth team product is one of 13 Saddlers players out of contract in the summer.[LNB]But, after impressing in 19 starts since his promotion into the first team, he hopes to earn a new deal and a regular starting slot.[LNB]"This has been my breakthrough season," he told the Birmingham Mail. "I have had a good run of games now and hopefully I can look forward to next season.[LNB]"My contract is up in the summer. I have had to prove to the gaffer what I can do, that I can be trusted and that I am a decent player at this level.[LNB]"I need to keep playing 100% and doing what I can do, and then, hopefully, I will get picked every game and keep improving."[LNB][LNB]
