Smith: Saddlers can survive

Walsall manager Dean Smith insists his side can still avoid relegation despite Tuesday's defeat to Leyton Orient. The 2-0 defeat to Russell Slade's men saw the Saddlers slip back into the relegation zone. Despite other teams near the bottom winning to close the gap at the foot of the table, Smith is confident his squad has enough quality to beat the drop. "If we'd have won, lost or drawn it wasn't going to define where we're going to be at the end of the season, we've still got 10 games to go," he told the Express & Star. "It's one less game to go and it makes the task even harder but the lads know that anyway. We know where we are and what we have to do. "We have to keep working hard and I keep saying if we keep putting in performances we'll get the wins."
