Smith expects `refreshed` troops

Walsall boss Dean Smith has called for his side to return to training on Monday ready for one final push as they prepare to enjoy a rare April weekend away from the survival battle. With original opponents Brentford in Johnstone`s Paint Trophy final action on Sunday, the Saddlers are not in action and Smith has taken the opportunity to reward his players for their recent efforts with a brief respite. But he expects them to come back fully recharged and champing at the bit to pick up three big points at relegation rivals Plymouth next weekend. "In many ways it`s good to have a break," Smith told the club`s official website. "The players have worked hard for me and they`ll get the weekend off before coming back refreshed and fully focused on our trip to Plymouth next weekend. "The games are coming thick and fast for the teams around us and it`s bound to have an effect on them, but we can`t do anything about other results - what will be, will be. All we can do is concentrate on what we do and get our own preparation and mindset right. "We need to get as many points as we can and then see where it takes us. There are some big games coming up but it`s a challenge I am sure we will rise to. The players have given me everything since I took over and now I am looking for one final push over the finishing line."
