Walsall's leading scorer Sam Parkin hit the post with the first spot kick while Bury went on to net all five of theirs, with Stephen Dawson eventually banging in the winner.[LNB]It was the second time this season Walsall had flopped in a cup competition against lower league opposition with Accrington having already beaten them in the Carling Cup.[LNB]In a hard-fought game Walsall were sharper in the first half and big central defender Clayton McDonald almost scored on his debut on loan from Manchester City with a shot that was deflected over the bar.[LNB]But Bury missed a clear chance on 38 minutes, with Jordan Robertson firing wide after skipping through the home defence.[LNB]In the second half Bury were slightly the more dangerous side going forward and Walsall keeper Rene Gilmartin did well to smother a shot from Simon Johnson which took a nasty deflection before the late penalty drama.[LNB][LNB][LNB]
