Walsall boss Jimmy Mullen has continued his busy week of squad strengthening by snapping up the former Barnsley midfielder Dwayne Mattis.
The 26-year-old made four appearances for the Saddlers during a loan spell at the Banks' Stadium last autumn.
Mattis started his career with hometown club Huddersfield Town and also played for Bury before moving to Oakwell in January 2007.
However, he made only four first-team appearances for the Tykes during his 18 months with the club.
Mullen has already added Wales international Stephen Roberts and Leyton Orient striker Jabo Ibehre to his squad this week.
