Saddlers accept red cards
23 Sep 2008 - 10:33:02
Walsall have decided not to appeal against the red cards handed out to full-backs Rhys Weston and Netan Sansara in the 1-0 victory at Brighton.
Weston received his marching orders from referee Mike Thorpe only 15 minutes into the contest for a tackle on Seagulls winger Dean Cox, while Sansara was dismissed 18 minute later for his challenge on Gary Hart.
"While we still feel that both incidents warranted a yellow card, we feel that we do not have sufficient video evidence to support an appeal," chief executive, Roy Whalley, told the Saddlers' official website.
Jimmy Mullen's battling side made light of their numerical disadvantage to win at the Withdean Stadium thanks to a goal just before the break from Dwayne Mattis.
