Midfielder Adkins, 17, was a first-half substitute in January's 1-0 defeat against Peterborough at London Road and, like his team-mates, has impressed for the reserves this season. Westlake, 18, is a talented and pacy right-back who scooped the BBC WM young player of the month award back in September, while 17-year-old striker Grigg has regularly found the net at various levels of the Saddlers' set-up and made his first-team debut as a late substitute in the goalless draw at Cheltenham back in December. Having offered the trio one-year deals with the option of a one-year extension, manager Chris Hutchings said: "We've had them train with the first team in recent weeks and they have stood up well, which is a testament to the work that Mick Halsall has done in moving them in the right direction. "Not all our youngsters can be offered professional contracts. We have had to make some tough decisions and will be giving the lads who were released every assistance to find new clubs." Head of youth Halsall added: "There is a lot of hard work and commitment ahead. I would like to think that they've learnt with us and we've given them a grounding, but now I can't stress enough how difficult the road ahead is going to be for them."
