Saddlers wait on strikers

Walsall will assess the fitness of forwards Jon Macken and Reuben Reid ahead of Sunday's trip to Charlton. The pair picked up respective calf and hamstring injuries during the 3-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday last month and it remains to be seen whether they will have recovered in time for the trip to The Valley. But with the bottom-of-the-table Saddlers having won just two of their last 15 league games, under-pressure boss Chris Hutchings will be hoping to have the key pair available. Even more so following the returns of attacking duo Martin Devaney and Liam Dickinson to parent club Barnsley following the completion of their loan stints at the Banks's Stadium. Striker and captain Darren Byfield remains sidelined with his long-term knee injury, with a return set for early in the new year.
