Saddlers star seeks home comforts

The Saddlers managed just 10 victories from their 23 home games in the recent League One season, something Deeney insists needs to improve if they are to mount a promotion challenge. "You can't really say any reason why we underperformed," he told the Express and Star. "Maybe the boys could have expressed themselves better because at home they were a bit shy, so we need to pick it up and make the Banks's a bit of a fortress. We'll be better off next year. "Last season we just weren't picking up points when we should have been but away from home, in the last couple of seasons, we've done fairly well."
