Saddlers set to prolong Dickinson`s stay
Walsall are likely to extend striker Liam Dickinson`s loan deal from Barnsley in the coming days.
Saddlers boss Chris Hutchings, who is under even more pressure following Saturday`s FA Cup exit at the hands of League Two Torquay, is light in numbers up front after Reuben Reid (hamstring) and Jon Macken (calf) were both ruled out for up to three weeks, joining Darren Byfield on the sidelines.
Dickinson's current spell at the Banks`s Stadium ends after this weekend`s clash against Oldham and despite the emergency loan window closing last Thursday, the Saddlers could take advantage of a seven-day period in which to extend existing deals
Hutchings told the Express and Star: "We're going to have to have a little think about Liam's loan now.
"We've been thinking about it anyway, but obviously it might make our minds up a little bit more now, because if the injuries (to Reid and Macken) are two or three weeks then we're going to be short of numbers in that area."
