Saddlers search for reinforcements
Hutchings admits his attentions were focused on the need for a loan player immediately after Tuesday's 3-0 home win over Brighton during which Anthony Gerrard sustained a calf injury, ruling him out for three to four weeks.
And having made enquiries, Hutchings is now playing to waiting game to see what develops.
"We're still in the process of trying to bring someone in," he told the club's official website.
"I was literally on the phone within minutes of the final whistle on Tuesday evening and now it's a case of waiting for phone calls back from various people.
"It's difficult because we're waiting on other people and the ball is in their court, but we will continue to do what we can to strengthen before next week's (emergency loan) deadline."
