Saddlers - No Deeney request

Walsall have confirmed they have no knowledge of star striker Troy Deeney having handed in a transfer request. The 22-year-old has been the subject of strong interest from Championship side Watford, with a fourth bid of around £375,000 rejected by the Saddlers last Thursday, and they have made it clear they do not want to sell. However, the manner in which the League One outfit have dealt with the Hornets` advances have annoyed Deeney, who is quoted as saying he has slapped a transfer request on the table in the hope of moving to Vicarage Road. The Birmingham-born striker reportedly told skysports.com: "I am disappointed in Walsall's continued rejection of offers for my transfer that are more than generous in the current financial climate. "What I find more disturbing, however, is their reluctance to communicate with the interested club in a mature and professional manner to try to resolve the position for the benefit of all parties. "I have therefore submitted a transfer request to the club."
