John Schofield, who was placed in caretaker charge following the dismissal of Jimmy Mullen on January 10, has been relieved of his duties in preperation for the new arrivals.[LNB]A statement on Walsall's official website read: "The club would like to place on record our appreciation for John's work since arriving at the Banks's Stadium in the summer. We wish him all the best for the future."[LNB]Several names have been linked with the position, including Alan Buckley, Geraint Williams and Chris Hutchings, although the identity of the new manager has been kept very much under wraps, with former front-runner John Ward believed to have ruled himself out of contention.[LNB][LNB]
