Saddlers can soar - Lancashire

Defender Oliver Lancashire has spoken of the importance of seeing Walsall out of the relegation zone for the first time since early October. Lancashire was at the heart of a Saddlers rearguard which kept a third successive clean sheet to shut out his former employers Southampton on Tuesday night as Jon Macken`s strike clinched a crucial 1-0 victory. The three points finally moved Walsall out of the bottom four, something they have not experienced since the 2-1 home triumph over Exeter on October 9. "It was a great result," Lancashire told the club`s official website. "The boys dug in for the full 90 minutes to get our reward. "To see us out of the relegation zone is a big thing. We now head to Swindon full of confidence and determined to get another three points." He added: "The win is sure to make other clubs sit up and take notice."
