Saddlers boss waits on defender

Smith has missed the club's last three games with a knee injury and will be assessed over the next 24 hours before Hutchings comes to a decision regarding his availability. However, should he be passed fit, it is unlikely Hutchings will make any changes to his starting XI after Walsall's impressive 2-1 triumph over Huddersfield in midweek. The victory was the club's first on home soil since March and another win against Carlisle this weekend would certainly bring optimism flooding back to the Banks's Stadium. Winger Peter Till may also be in contention for a return but the game is expected to come too soon for full-back Richard Taundry (both hamstring). Defender Stephen Roberts continues to miss out with his back problem.
