Richards happy to be versatile

After impressing on trial, Richards penned a two-year deal at the Banks's Stadium on Tuesday and is itching for the league action to get started this weekend, with the Saddlers at Brighton. The 24-year-old is able to play left midfield, centre midfield or at left-back and he is willing to help Hutchings' quest for success in any way he can. He told the club's official website: "I've really enjoyed it here - the style of football, the facilities and the lads are excellent, I'd like to think I have fitted in well. The way the gaffer wants to play the game really suits me and I can't wait for the season to get underway. "Obviously I was pleased with the goal I scored against West Brom (in pre-season) and I hope it will be the first of many. I can play on the left side of midfield, in the centre or at left-back, wherever the boss wants me." He added: "We have a young enthusiastic squad here, everyone knows what is expected of them and we are encouraged to go out and enjoy our football."
