Quartet in the saddle

Walsall could be boosted by as many as four fresh faces for their crucial home clash against Exeter. Winger Martin Devaney and centre-back Andrew Davies have this week arrived on loan from Barnsley and Stoke respectively and are likely to make their debuts at the Banks`s Stadium. Wide man Steve Jones is expected to come back into the reckoning after seven weeks out with an ankle injury while striker and skipper Darren Byfield also has an outside chance of making his return from a knee problem. The news will provide a much-needed shot in the arm for under pressure manager Chris Hutchings and his confidence-sapped squad who have slumped to the foot of the table courtesy of a seven-match winless streak in the league, which has included six defeats. The only absentee is now midfielder Richard Taundry (knee) who is expected to rejoin his team-mates for full training next week.
